Australian forest fire rages on, more than 70 homes destroyed near Perth

A forest fire destroyed 71 homes near the Australian city of Perth. That is what the head of the fire brigade of the state of Western Australia, Darren Klemm, said. No deaths have been reported.

According to Klemm, conditions for the fire service had improved slightly last night. He did warn that gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour could still stir the fires. Residents of the town of Shady Hills were advised to evacuate as a precaution.
