Again no-bail release for Ghislaine Maxwell

Ghislaine Maxwell remains in prison on suspicion of recruiting underage girls for sex with multi-millionaire Jeffrey Epstein and his entourage. For the third time, a judge has ruled that she should not be released on bail.

Maxwell also tried to be released on bail in July and December 2020. This time she had suggested renouncing her British and French citizenship in order to appease prosecutors who fear she might flee abroad.

Manhattan federal Judge Alison Nathan ruled that there is no “combination of conditions” that would ensure that she would present herself in court if she is released on parole before her trial in July.

“Violent Treatment in Prison”

59-year-old Maxwell continues to denounce the circumstances of her preemptive arrest. Last month, she said the wardens at her Brooklyn prison used “physical violence” against her.

Maxwell is accused of luring and prepping underage girls for sex with the businessman and multi-millionaire Epstein between 1994 and 1997. He ended his life in his cell while awaiting his trial.

Maxwell was arrested in the US state of New Hampshire in early July after a manhunt with six charges to her name. The woman pleads not guilty. She risks life imprisonment if convicted.
