At least 30 people died and 22 missing in boat accidents in Congo

At least 30 people have been killed in two boat accidents in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to authorities.

According to Interior Minister Gilbert Kankonde, at least 22 people are still missing. The accidents took place last week but have only now become known.

The first boat accident occurred on the Congo River in the Kibombo region, the second on the Kasai River.

Major accidents regularly occur in rivers or lakes in the Congo. After all, the ships are in poor condition and often sail overloaded.
