Biden will point out to Putin consequences of Russia’s “aggressive actions”

US President Joe Biden will tell his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on June 16 in Geneva what awaits Moscow in case of aggressive actions. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told reporters. The Axios portal quotes his words.

Blinken stressed that Biden would meet with Putin not in spite of this “aggression”, but because of it.

“He will be clear and direct about what he can expect from the US if the aggressive, reckless actions against us continue. He will make it equally clear that we would prefer a more stable relationship if Russia chooses a different course in its actions. The US is prepared to continue to communicate with Moscow precisely if it changes course,” the secretary of state emphasized.

Blinken added that Putin and Biden would discuss strategic security and arms control at the meeting, so the talks would benefit both countries and the world.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the trilateral contact group on the settlement of the conflict in Donbas, Leonid Kravchuk, said that Biden should talk to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the eve of the meeting with Putin.

He is sure that during the meeting of the leaders of states, the topic of Ukraine will be raised; therefore, he advises to inquire about what is happening in the country from its president.
