Charlize Theron responds to alleged quarrel with Angelina Jolie
When rumors circulated in January about a possible relationship between Charlize Theron (43) and Brad Pitt (55), Angelina Jolie (43) also quickly got involved. The gossip about Charlize Theron and Brad Pitt hit a sensitive chord with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie. That is what a neighbor of the ‘Maleficent’ actress told the HollywoodLife website. “Angelina has never had much with Charlize because they have often fought for the same roles. She is really upset that Brad would start a relationship with someone he knows his ex-wife doesn’t like. The rumors alone are hurtful to her. It really feels like a betrayal. She hopes it’s not true.”
Heavy words, and it sounds like there is more going on between Theron and Jolie than just rivalry. The first now denies that in an interview with Andy Cohen. “I don’t really know her very well,” said the actress. “I only know her from events and she is always very sweet there. But we don’t really know each other, we are not friends, we don’t do things together. But she has been nothing but graceful, loving and warm to me.”
No arguing so. Indeed, the alleged romance between Brad and Charlize was soon disproved after the first rumors surfaced. Allegedly the two actors were introduced by Charlize’s ex-fiancé, Sean Penn, and then spotted at an event where they could not keep their hands off each other.
That turned out not to be true. “Brad and Charlize have known each other for years and have become even better friends through their recent collaboration. They like to spend time together because they have many similar interests. In addition, they have many mutual friends and they share the love of acting, but neither of them is currently waiting for a serious relationship,” said a source.
