Fashion house Max Mara is inspired by pigtails from Greta Thunberg

The Italian fashion label Max Mara sent several models on the catwalk this week during Milan Fashion Week with the hairstyle of the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. Last season the other Italian brand Prada did the same. Will two long braids soon become the most significant hairstyle trend?

On the second day of fashion week in Milan, top models Doutzen Kroes, Candice Swanepoel and Gigi Hadid opened Max Mara’s 2020 spring and summer fashion show in tough outfits and two tight braids, à la Greta Thunberg.

Source of inspiration was powerful, female spies and secret agents were read afterward in the press release. That feminist approach was immediately compared to the Swedish climate activist who received compliments this week from none other than Barack Obama.
