First US sanctions on Iran under President Biden

The United States has declared the first sanctions against Iran under President Joe Biden. Washington has blacklisted two interrogators from the supreme Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for gross human rights violations during anti-government protests over the past two years.

Members of the elite military corps are said to have tortured or otherwise cruelly treated opponents of the strict Islamic regime. They and their families are no longer allowed to enter the US.

With the measures against the guardsmen, according to observers, mostly symbolic, Biden continues pastor Donald Trump’s policy of punishing the Tehran regime for violating the human rights of its people.

Contrary to the Republican, the Democrat does want to resume the international nuclear agreements with Iran from 2015 to prevent Tehran from going its way in the nuclear field.

Trump threw the deal in the trash and took a hard line on the Iranian government.
