In 2020, Monoliths were discovered in these places

If an unidentified object turns up, the theories about aliens are straightforward. This is no different now with the steel monolith being discovered in some places around the world.

The posting of photos and a video of the monolith has caused Internet users to get lost in conjecture. Some speculated that it was an installation of extraterrestrial origin, while others believed that the monolith was installed by fans of the science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey, directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on a screenplay co-written by Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke.

On 18 November 2020, a metal column – monolith – was spotted in a desert in Utah, in the western United States. It is believed to be a work of minimalist artist John McCracken, who died in 2011, The Daily Mail reported.

John McCracken is known for his minimalist painting and his sculptures in the shape of pyramids, obelisks, cubes, and slabs. He resided in New Mexico, a neighboring state to Utah. But soon after, more monoliths were seen in different places around the world. Below are some places monoliths have been discovered so far.

A biologist who was part of a team that flew over a desert area in Utah in a helicopter to count bighorn sheep spotted a metal monolith in the middle of a canyon on Wednesday, 18 November.

The monolith went around the world and caught the attention of many curious. The Department of Public Safety (DPS) declined to disclose the object’s exact location to prevent people from embarking on a dangerous expedition in the Utah desert, but many adventurers soon found their way to the mysterious building.

In the evening of Friday, 27 November, the American photographer Ross Bernards who also went to the desert in Utah but unfortunately described how four men turned up, immediately stepped towards the monolith and gave it a firm shove. The photographer, who was able to take the last pictures of the monolith, thinks the men did well to remove the monolith. He describes how the party spent the night where the monolith had been, only to see at least 70 cars (and a plane) arrive the next morning.

Another mysterious metal monolith appeared on a mountain top in northern Romania and disappeared after four days. The column was discovered just days later than the column in the desert of the US state of Utah.

The meter-long metal column was first spotted on a hill near the town of Piatra Neamt in the northeast. Social media responses compared the metal object to the monolith that previously surfaced and disappeared in Utah, although Romanian sheet metal construction has been criticized for poor welding.

“An unidentified person, apparently a bad local welder, made it,” said local journalist Robert Iosub.

A mysterious new Monolith was discovered on Wednesday morning, 2 December, atop Pine Mountain in Atascadero, California, reports local newspaper Atascadero News. Hikers flock to take pictures.

The obelisk is triangular and appears to be made of stainless steel. It is three meters tall, almost 46 centimeters wide, and weighs around 90 kilograms. It is welded at each corner with rivets securing the side panels to a steel frame that might be inside. Its top shows no signs of welding, and it appears to be hollow at the top and possibly at the bottom.

There is no evidence of how the object ended up on top of the mountain, but a hiker who passes there every day told the newspaper he was not there on Tuesday.

After some days, the monolith was discovered, a group of young men chanting “Christ is king!” dismantle the shiny metal structure, leaving a wooden cross in its place.

Resembling obelisks found in the United States and Romania, a new metal monolith has been spotted on a beach on the Isle of Wight in England.

A resident of the island was walking his dog with several people on the morning of 6 December when he saw this object with a reflective surface on Compton’s beach.

In Friesland, Walkers were on the morning of 6 december surprised when they suddenly saw a monolith in a nature reserve near Oudehorne. The colossus appears shortly after similar finds in America and Romania, and Uk.

According to the workers, it is not known how it got there. There are also no footprints on the pillar.

Unlike the monoliths in Utah, California, and Romania, this one is not made of glossy material. Walkers suspect that this is a New Year’s Eve stunt. The monoliths remind many people of those from the science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey from 1968.

On the 7th of December, another mysterious metal obelisk has been discovered on the British island of Isle of Wight. On the 6th of the same month, the monolith was found at Compton Beach, on the west coast of the British island.

An anonymous collective that calls itself The Most Famous Artist has already announced that it is behind the monoliths in Utah and California. When asked about the Isle of Wight structure, the collective tells the BBC that the story is “now out of my control”. “Good luck to all the aliens worldwide who are spreading the myth,” he added.

On 8th Decembr, another monolith was found on a potato field near Geerstraat. It is not clear who is behind the stunt. What is certain: the Flemish monolith looks a lot less impressive than the other pillars in the world. Meanwhile, the mysterious monoliths have captivated almost the entire world. They suddenly appear in a certain location but then disappear again.

The monolith already caused astonished reactions from those who passed. Whether the sudden appearance belongs to the previous monoliths in the world or Baasrode, it’s a joker who responds to the current fuss is not clear.

The fact is that the realization is human work. There were several footprints around the column. At first glance, it does not appear to be as refined as the monoliths that have appeared elsewhere in the world. For example, there are dents in the metal, and the seams are not welded but secured with screws. According to Dutch media, Farmer Luc Vranken, owner of the field, does not know who is behind it.
