MMA fighter kidnapped from hospital after bomb attack

Phoe Thaw, a well-known MMA fighter under contract with ONE Championship, has been kidnapped from a hospital in Myanmar along with his brother. The fighter was hospitalized with severe burns after a bomb attack on the gym where he trains.

Phoe Thaw was kidnapped from North Akkalpa General Hospital in Rangoon along with his brother Kaung Si Thu, a player from the Myanmar national football team.

Yesterday there was a bomb attack on the gym where Thaw trains. The fighter was seriously injured – with fifty percent burns to his body – admitted to the hospital from which he was kidnapped today.

Junta

As a fierce opponent of the military junta in his country, Thaw is on the list of unwanted persons. Sources report that Thaw was taken from the hospital by the special military unit SAC. The manager, who posted shocking photos online of a badly burned Thaw, says that the fighter and his brother have disappeared and that their lives are feared.
