More coronavirus deaths in Italy than in China
Italy now has officially more coronavirus deaths than China, where the virus outbreak began. In the past 24 hours, 427 people died from the coronavirus.
The death toll in Italy has thus risen to 3,405; in China, the death toll is 3,245. The Bergamo region in the North is the most affected.
Yesterday, 319 people died there, bringing the total number of deaths in the region to 1,959, slightly more than 57% of Italy’s death toll.
In total, 41,035 infections have already been reported.
