Near Death Experience: Man that “dead” and “resurrected”, draw what he saw [PHOTOS]

A Shakespearian actor who died for seven minutes, painted what he saw when he was unconscious.

Shiv Grewal of Peckham, London, suffered a cardiac arrest after having lunch with his wife five years ago, and today he represents what he believes to be life after death.

The 60-year-old man, who has just finished a RSC production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, had to be revived by paramedics.

He was previously healthy, but on his way home from the restaurant, he began to feel bad before his eyes entered his head.

He explains the circumstances in which this happened: “I knew in a few ways that I was dead.

“I was aware that my brain was dying and asking for help.

“But at the same time, I felt things completely separated from my body.

“It was as if I was empty but I could feel emotions and sensations.

“Although I knew I was dead, I also knew there was a chance to go home.

“I also understood that I was reincarnated, but I did not want it again.

“I wanted to go back to life, to the material world and to my wife.

“I demanded to return and my wish was granted.”

In his long journey towards healing, Shivinder found that art was an extremely therapeutic way of documenting what he had seen during his brief encounter with death.

The artist, who will present the resulting works at an exhibition titled Reboot at London’s Soho Sanctum Hotel, from August 15 to September 24, said: “I remember everything that happened when my heart stopped.”
