Photos: So beautiful is the total lunar eclipse

This morning you can enjoy a beautiful spectacle in the sky. A total lunar eclipse can be seen, causing the moon to turn blood red. The show started around four o’clock this morning and can still be seen until a quarter to nine.

During a lunar eclipse the sun, the earth and the moon are aligned and the moon is completely in the shadow of the earth. The phenomenon can also be seen in some countries this morning – thanks to the clear weather – and the moon looks blood-red. That results in beautiful images. The lunar eclipse was complete at 6.12 am, but you can catch a glimpse of it until a quarter to nine. Enjoy this:
