Police dog detects two lost children in the forest within 15 minutes

The parents and neighbors had already been searching for 45 minutes for two lost eight-year-olds in a forest in Virginia, USA when Bane was finally used as a search dog. The animal did the job in just 15 minutes.

The children, both eight years old, were playing a “chase game” in the woods when they got lost. “We had forgotten which path we had taken,” Chloe Reese told the local TV station WRIC.

First, agents and Bane searched the house and then moved into the forest. The tracking dog quickly found the right track and a moment later also the two children. The reward for Bane: a delicious ice cream.

Bane is a Dutch shepherd who, according to his own Facebook page, specializes in detecting drugs and patrolling. After the dog found the children, he immediately went on patrol again, eagerly waiting for the next assignment. That’s what the sheriff wrote on Facebook, followed by congratulations to the tracking dog: “Well done, Bane!”
