Six killed in army plane crash in Mexico

Six soldiers were killed in the crash of an army plane in eastern Mexico. The plane, a Learjet 45, is said to have crashed while taking off from El Lencero airport in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata, in the state of Veracruz. That says the Ministry of Defense.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador regrets the accident. ‘My deepest condolences to the relatives of the six officers and soldiers who died in a plane crash in Veracruz,’ the head of state wrote on Twitter.

The cause of the accident is still unclear.
