Sydney blunders with New Year’s wishes: “Happy new year 2018!”

The new year has already arrived in Sydney, Australia. Thousands of people gathered at the Harbour Bridge at 2 pm to enjoy the spectacular fireworks. A few also noticed the colossal error that was projected on the large screens on the bridge.

Several photos of the New Year’s wishes were shared on Reddit and Instagram. In large block letters the city wished its residents a “happy new year 2018”. One year next to it, but that could not disturb the festivities.

“We only had one job, Australia!”, One of the internet users quipped the photo online. “But anyway a happy new year.”
