The world’s deepest swimming pool for divers opened in Warsaw

In Poland, the deepest swimming pool in the world opened this weekend. Divers can marvel at caves, Mayan ruins, and even a small shipwreck in the water at a depth of 45.5 meters.

The swimming pool near Warsaw called Deepspot contains 8000 cubic meters of water, twenty times more than an ordinary 25-meter pool. It was able to open its doors in spite of the corona crisis because a training center where courses are given is allowed.

The record was set for a 42-meter-deep pool in Italy. In London, a swimming pool with a depth of 50 meters is under construction and should open next year.

“There are no beautiful fish or coral reefs here, so it is not a substitute for the sea, but it is certainly a good place to train and learn to dive safely in open water,” said dive instructor Przemyslaw Kacprzak.

The fire brigade and the army will also use the swimming pool.

Construction took two years. The costs amount to 10,552,500.00 United States Dollar
