This way you get neglected jewelry shiny again

To fight the coronavirus, we were all under house arrest. Fun? Not quite. But that time can also be put to good use. Give your jewelry box a freshening up, for example.

Have your jewelry lost its shine? We explain how to polish them.

Pearls

These coveted white balls quickly become dull. That is why you must maintain them properly. When you start cleaning the pearl, you must work on a soft surface, such as a towel. Make warm water with a little shampoo and rub the pearls with a make-up brush to clean them. Dab clean with a damp cloth.

Silver

Silver can be easily polished with a cloth. But is your favorite bracelet faded or discolored? Then put some (mild) soap in warm water and clean it with a soft cloth.

Never use chemical agents when cleaning silver. You can also use a soft toothbrush to clean your jewelry for stubborn dirt. After brushing, rinse your jewelry and pat it dry with a lint-free cloth.

Gold

No more shine on your favorite gold jewel? Anything but fun. Fortunately, there is a solution. You can put your gold in a bubble bath. Yes, a bubble bath. Mix a few drops of soap with sparkling water and leave your gold in this for five minutes. Then rinse and pat dry with a soft cloth.

Diamond

Diamonds are known for their brilliance because that is precisely what makes them so unique. But a diamond can lose its shine due to oil, soap, and dirt. If you have a jewel with a diamond, it is best to clean it once a month. Clean with mild soap and polish the diamond with an old toothbrush.
