The word death is bad to hear and it can be painful, sad, heartbreaking and terrible. But it remains an inevitable thing on earth.

The world of music has had shocking deaths, especially that of some of our favorite singers who died too young.

Here are 10 talented singers who were snatched from fans’ affection before the age of 40:

1. Ebony Reigns

Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known as Ebony Reigns, is a Ghanaian dancehall artist. She has released some very popular songs like Ur Fada Date, Maame Hwe, Poison, Sponsor and Hustle.

Ebony Reigns was at the height of her glory when she was struck by death in an accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

2. Goldie (31 years old)

Susan Oluwabimpe Filani, known as Goldie, was a Nigerian singer. She became known to the general public after she appeared on the Big Brother Africa reality show in 2012. She died shortly afterward from heart disease.

3. Da Grin (22 years old)

Da Grin is a Nigerian singer. He has worked with other Nigerian artists such as YQ, 9ice, MI and Iceberg Slim. In 2010, Da Grin died in a car accident in Lagos.

4. Tupac Shakur (25 years old)

Tupac, born Lesane Parish Crooks, is an American rapper who sold more than 75 million records. He is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. It occupies the 86th place in the ranking of the greatest artists of all time in Rolling Stone. Tupac was murdered in 1996 at the age of 25.

5. Notorious BIG (Biggie) (24 years old)

 

Christopher George Latore Wallace, known as Notorious BIG or Biggie, is an American rapper who released popular albums like Ride to Die and Life after Death. Like Tupac, he is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. At the age of 24, he was killed in a shootout in Los Angeles.

6. Amy Winehouse (27 years old)

The English singer and songwriter was known for her deep, expressive vocals of contralto and her eclectic mix of musical genres. His debut album, Frank (2003), was a hit in the UK and was nominated for the Mercury Award. Her second album, Back to Black (2006), earned her a Grammy Award in 2008. She died of alcohol intoxication in 2011.

7. Aaliyah (22 years old)

Aaliyah Dana Haughton, an American singer and actress, known for her albums as Age Is Not Nothing and Number One and One in a Million was one of the biggest stars of the 90s. Aaliyah died in a plane crash in 2011.

8. Zara Gretti (28 years old)

Zara was a promising Nigerian artist at the time of her death. His songs were already broadcast on major radio and television channels. She died of sclerosis at the age of 28.

9. Eric Arubayi (33 years old)

Nigerian gospel singer Eric died on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Delta State University University Hospital.

10. Fada U-Turn (36 years old)

Famous for his song Yetunde, Fada U-Turn died Sunday, November 17, 2013 from a kidney disease.
