400,000 Lego pebbles were needed to build this full-size camper

Two Germans have rebuilt a full-size VW T2 camper from 400,000 Lego bricks. Even the interior and roof are true to the original. The 700 kilos VW-bus can be seen from tomorrow at a holiday fair in Munich.

Builders Rene Hoffmeister and Pascal Lenhard worked on it for six weeks. First, they made the building plan with a 3D program, among other things to know at an early stage how many building blocks would be needed.

Furthermore, the stiffness of the side walls and the windows had to be calculated, so that the building would not collapse when entering the interior. As an example, the duo took the VW T2a camper van, as produced by Volkswagen between 1967 and 1971. The original can also be seen at the Munich holiday fair.
