A two-day search does not produce anything, the tracking dog finds the man alive after 45 minutes

Tracking dog Jupiter has been named hero in France. After only 45 minutes, the bloodhound managed to find a resident of a care home, who had been missing for two days, alive.

The sixties, who were no longer self-reliant, disappeared without a trace in Breil-sur-Roya in the Alpes-Maritimes department. André Bergzoni left the nursing home to buy cigarettes, but after that, he gave no sign of life anymore. His disappearance was immediately considered worrying.

The alarm was quickly sounded, but the searches did not produce anything for two days. The Menton police then decided to call on a search dog. The first attempt with a Mechelen shepherd did not give the desired result. Then it was Jupiter’s turn. In just 45 minutes the four-legged friend, a Saint-Hubert dog (also known as a blood dog), was able to track down the missing man.

The man was lying on his back in a nearby river some thirty centimeters deep. The sixties had fallen and he was unable to stand up independently. Undercooled, he was taken to the hospital.
