Adwowa Obeng suffers complete loss of hair syndrome for 22 years
Adwowa Obeng does not allow her complete loss of hair syndrome to ruin her ambition. Alopecia Universalis (AU) is a condition characterized by complete loss of hair on the scalp and body.
The syndrome is an advanced form of Alopecia Areata, a condition that causes round patches of hair loss. It affects a tiny population in the world and is not considered a viral disease. A beautiful young woman in Ghana known as Adwowa Obeng, has this rare disease and made a special outing to talk about it.
Adwowa Obeng posted beautiful photos and videos on social media as she celebrated her birthday. Obeng turned 30 on December 11, 2019, and made a bold move by posting her look on social media. According to reports, she has been suffering from Alopecia Universalis (AU) or hair loss for more than 20 years but has decided not to let her condition limit her success.
In a video, she described her condition and explained that it means the body’s immune system is fighting the body’s hair. Adwowa Obeng adds that it “affects everyone regardless of race or sex” and that there is no known cause of the disease, but is known to be associated with stress.
Obeng proudly explains that there are no scientific methods of treatment but that there are local drugs that can be used after consultation with a health professional. She goes on to say that it is not contagious and does not affect a person’s life in any way. Several people took advantage of social media to wish her good luck on her special day.
