Internet company Amazon is tackling vendors trying to cash in on the outbreak of the coronavirus. A thousand of products have been removed.
In recent weeks, the web-store put a stop to the sale of more than a million products that people would supposedly cure or protect against the virus.
The giant company also says it has removed tens of thousands of products from sellers trying to make usurious profits.
An Amazon spokeswoman stressed in a statement that such practices are not allowed. For example, products can be removed if the price is much higher than average.
For example, a seller on Thursday offered ten protective mouth masks of the N95 type for 128 dollars. That price is about three times higher than usual in recent times, according to a comparison site. The advertisement was removed later in the day.
