Billie Eilish new album songs broke record on Apple Music before official release
Today Billie Eilish’s second album, ‘Happier Than Ever’, is out. The album had already set a new record before its official release, as it is the album with the most pre-ads on Apple Music.
Fans have been waiting for it for a long time, but it’s finally here. Billie Eilish’s second album hits shelves today. And although it can officially only be listened to for a few hours, the singer has already broken a record with it. ‘Happier Than Ever’ is the album with the most pre-ads on Apple Music. Pre-adds allow listeners to queue up an album to be added to their library when it’s released. That gives a good indication of the albums that fans are most excited about.
Billie is happy with the record and hopes that she will not disappoint her fans with the album. “I haven’t had a chance to really prove to my fans that I’m still theirs. It was really terrible not being able to perform and not be able to see and hug and talk to my fans in person,” the singer said.
“I want to be poor”
Although most fans are wildly enthusiastic, Billie Eilish got into a Twitter row earlier this week because of a statement the singer made in an interview. “When I got rich I started crying, I wanted to be poor so I could relate to most of my fans,” Billie said.
“I want to be broke and poor, it looks really nice and cute.” A parody account took a screenshot of the deleted text and shared it on Twitter.
The quote quickly went viral, causing Billie to count on a lot of criticism. “I’ve had no issues with Billie Eilish, until this point”, “Yeah, because being poor is about having fun and being cute” or “I just don’t understand how disconnected Billie must be if she wants to be poor”, are just some of the responses. It is not the first time that the singer has had to deal with online hate. Billie has been accused of racism several times before.
Finneas, the singer’s brother, stood up for his sister. “This quote is fake,” said her 23-year-old brother. “I have no problem with a joke as long as people know it’s a joke.” It’s not clear whether Billie actually made the statement or not.
