MMA fighter Conor McGregor (30) will have to leave his car for six months. Local media report that an Irish court has decided to withdraw its driving license after a flagrant speeding offense and to impose a fine of 1,000 euro on it. McGregor pleaded guilty to the charge.
In October 2017, the local police of Kildare stopped the Range Rover of the infamous Irish fighter Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor, close to Dublin. The Irishman drove 154 km per hour on a motorway where the maximum allowed speed is 100 km per hour.
McGregor acknowledged his debt during a hearing in the court in Naas and apologized to Judge Desmond Zaidan. However, he was not impressed by McGregor’s apologies. “The higher the speed, the greater the danger,” said Zaidan. The judge also referred in his judgment to twelve previous speed judgments of the Irishman.
McGregor several times earlier this year in disagreement about his much-discussed title fight against the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov. After the Russian defeated McGregor, riots broke out between both camps. In anticipation of the fight, McGregor attacked Nurmagomedov’s team in New York with an iron hand truck and injured several fellow MMA fighters. For this incident, there is still a trial in New York against McGregor.
