Cuddling after a fight can give everyone a better feeling

We have to be honest: relationships have their ups and downs. Even the best couples occasionally argue, disagree or have words because of some misunderstanding. After a fight, we all start looking for something that can give us a better feeling. What do you do best? Take each other firmly!

A study by The Department of Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University shows that a simple hug can make a lot of difference after an argument or stressful situation. Scientists discovered that a hug or touch is a good way to calm someone down after a moment of stress or after a conflict. The study was published in the journal PLOS ONE and indicates that people who regularly have physical affection are both physically and psychologically healthier.

Cuddling

After all, a hug has the power to calm a person’s mood after a fight and also reduces the negative feelings we have after an outburst from someone we like to see.

For example, the participants in the survey who regularly registered their partner generally felt more positive feelings than negative ones, even if they had a fight. That is in contrast to people who do not like to cuddle.

The results were unanimous for all participants, regardless of their gender or age. A hug works well because, at that moment, the hormone oxytocin is released, which is linked to getting good relationships and building trust. Other research shows that hugs can also work on blood pressure lowering.
