Nigerian disc jockey Soul Yin broke the Guinness World Record for the longest DJ set of all time and toast to the feat with a new single dubbed “Domitila”. She was on the disk pool for 240 hours, or ten days non-stop on the pools.
Being a woman in the disc jockey world is a real constraint, but Soul Yin has defied all prejudices. She succeeded in gaining respect and was able to impose herself in the same way as the men. Better still, she just broke the Guinness World Record for the longest DJ set of all time, and she toasts to the feat with a new single called “Domitila”.
She has thus reached a level never imagined in her career by staying on the disk pool for 240 hours, which translates into ten non-stop days on the pool.
The latest record was also held by a Nigerian, DJ Obi, who worked for 230 hours. Sharing her joy via social media, this Friday, DJ Soul Yin said she was in tears and couldn’t believe she got to this level.
She appreciated her fans and Tiwa Savage for all the support they gave her. “It’s all records from now on! My new single “Domitila” is now available on all platforms!” She wrote.
Speaking a few days ago about his attempt to break records, DJ Soul Yin revealed: “Breaking the world record means a lot to me, and there is no better way to show the world than Nigerian DJs are a force. I need everyone’s love and support, so please come to Grill by Yanna so that together we can beat this, you can also join my Soul Yin live IG sessions”.
