Russian President Vladimir Putin (68) indicated on Thursday that “dozens of people” from his entourage have contracted a corona infection. As a result, Putin has been in quarantine since Tuesday.
“In my entourage, it is not about one or two, but dozens of people who have been infected with the coronavirus,” Putin said during a video conference of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSVO), NATO’s Russian counterpart.
It is not clear how or where the employees contracted the coronavirus.
A number of close employees would be quite ill from the virus. The president says he has nothing to worry about.
The Kremlin previously confirmed that the president is in “perfect health”. He now has to remain in self-isolation for at least “a few days”.
