First photo after lockdown: woman (31) crashes and dies

She wanted to enjoy her regained freedom after easing the lockdown in Turkey. A photoshoot at a waterfall was supposed to be the icing on the cake, but 31-year-old Olesya Suspitsyna lost her balance, crashed in front of a friend, and died.

The young woman from Kazakhstan has lived in Antalya for five years. There she worked as a tourist guide. After the ban on going out in the region was lifted, she made a trip with a friend last Sunday to the beautiful waterfalls of Düden, a short distance from Antalya.

It is one of the most famous sights. However, arriving at the cliffs, the 31-year-old woman became careless.

She climbed over a fence so that she would have a spectacular background for the shoot. She clearly didn’t realize she was risking her life.

The woman lost her balance and plunged 35 meters deep into the sea. Her companion alerted the rescuers, who could remove her body from the water. But there was nothing more they could do for the victim. Olesya had died on the spot.

Friends reacted shocked to social media after the tragic accident. “Olesya has always loved the sea, and her dream was to live in Turkey,” wrote one.

“She especially liked the feeling of freedom,” explained another. Her body will be repatriated to her homeland on Saturday.
