Heavy rainfall in the African country of Niger has already caused 64 deaths this summer. The government reports that. The country, which usually suffers from drought, has been hit by flooding since the start of the rainy season in June. This has led to flooding and landslides.

According to the Niger government, the extreme weather conditions have affected nearly 70,000 people and destroyed or damaged more than 5,000 homes.
