Google promises artificial intelligence at the service of journalism
Accused of contributing to the decline of the press and let proliferation of misinformation, the Google search engine has embarked on a vast redesign of its “News” with artificial intelligence.
The goal of the technology giant is twofold: to help the media to find subscribers and limit the perverse effects of algorithms, which tend to prioritize only certain media or subjects.
Google wants to break “filter bubble”. A bubble that tends to keep the reader in his convictions rather than open up other horizons.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, the new Google News app “brings up the news that interests you but that comes from reliable sources”.
“It also offers a full range of views on events.”
Measures that still leave the experts mixed.
