The Senegalese government has created 10,000 jobs for its “green employment” program, Environment and Sustainable Development Minister Abdou Karim Sall announced on Friday.
“These new recruits will pass a two-year test period, and then we will assess before signing them CDI (permanent contracts),” he added, specifying that 7,000 will be assigned to the National Agency for great green wall and the 3,000 remaining in the various services of his ministerial department.
Mr. Sall also said that these new recruits would intervene in the fight against deforestation, environmental protection, but also in the fight against bush fires. According to him, these new agents will also undergo training before their deployment in the field.
