Cuban Yunier Dorticos KO Doctor beat American Andrew Tabiti in the tenth round by fantastic knockout. Yunier Dorticos was intent on setting up his name in the big boxing world and managed to do so with the exceptional performance in Latvia in the Cruiserweight semifinal of the World Boxing Super Series.
The Cuban, nicknamed the “ KO Doctor”, honored his nickname: he beat the American Andrew Tabiti with a lethal blow to the face in the tenth round of the ring mounted in Riga.
The 33-year-old fighter scored his opponent with his left hand and hit right in the center of the face. Enough connection to leave it lying on the ring for more than a minute while the assistants assisted.
“I said that the knockout came alone, he is a good boxer, he is super fast but I studied him a lot, I knew that he would take me anywhere and you can see that I took him”, KO Doctor said on the ring with the belt Interim World of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) of the divisional.
Dorticos will now face Latvian Mairis Briedis in the final of the tournament, who was beaten by Polish Krzysztof Glowacki in the third round of the bout that took place on the same stage as the fight between Dorticos and Tabiti.
The “KO Doctor” signed the 24th triumph of his professional career and the 22nd on the fast track. It just amounts to a defeat: in February 2018 against the Russian Murat Gassiev as a visitor.
The North American Tabiti had come to this presentation in unbeaten condition: since 2013 – the date of his professional debut – he had celebrated 17 victories (13 by KO).
