Seventeen bodies of sub-Saharan migrants, including three women, were discovered on a Moroccan beach between Tantan and Agadir. Among the victims, two Senegalese were identified.
The captains of the boats involved have been arrested. Since the beginning of the month, eight captains, all Senegalese, have been arrested.
The situation is gradually evolving. Senegalese have been repatriated by air: 40 people were repatriated on July 30, followed by 53 others on August 6. Another 53 people are planned for August 28.
At that date, around 300 other Senegalese will remain in the reception centers of Bir-Gandouz and Argoub, located 300 km and 100 km south of Dakhla, respectively.
