On Saturday morning, nearly 200 students were kidnapped at Saint Augustin Kumbo Middle School, located about 80 kilometers from Bamenda in the English-speaking area of the country.
This is the second most important kidnapping since the beginning of the conflict between armed separatists and the police.
According to military sources and the establishment where the abduction took place, the kidnapping occurred early Saturday morning around 5 am local time, said a local source to the BBC.
Unidentified gunmen stormed St Augustine High School on the outskirts of Kumbo and left with the students.
