The Pentagon has released three striking videos that show U.S. Navy pilots in contact with ‘unidentified flying objects’ – UFOs during training flights. The grainy videos, which show ‘unexplained aerial phenomena’ according to the Pentagon, have been leaked before. Now the videos have been officially declared declassified and shared with the general public. This also immediately confirms that it concerns authentic images.
The gray, short, unclear, but sensational images began to circulate in 2007 and 2017 after an unauthorized leak. They show what naval pilots saw during training flights in 2004 and 2015. The New York Times previously published two videos, and a private organization released the other video. It can be seen how unidentified flying objects move through the air at lightning speed, and they are only briefly picked up by infrared cameras.
It happened exceptionally abruptly, like a ping pong ball bouncing off the wall. As if it hit something and was catapulted in the other direction
Abruptly
The commentary from the pilots involved in the two videos from 2015 is particularly fascinating. They are clearly impressed by the speed of the objects and cannot believe their eyes. “My god. It’s going upwind,” says a voice. “Look at that thing!” It sounds. “It’s spinning!”
In the other video, a pilot cheers, “Yes, I have it,” if he can grab it in his camera. “Watch it fly! Wow.” In 2017, retired naval pilot David Fravor, who shot the 2004 footage (without sound), stated that the object he had seen was moving in ways he couldn’t explain.
“As I approached it, it shot south at lightning speed, and it disappeared in less than two seconds,” he told CNN. “It happened extremely abruptly, like a ping pong ball bouncing off the wall. As if it hit something and was catapulted in the other direction.”
Authorized
The Pentagon says it is now deciding to release the footage “to clear up any misunderstanding from the public as to whether the circulating footage was real and if there was more to the videos,” it said in a statement by the Defense Department.
“After an in-depth investigation, the Ministry has decided that an authorized release of these videos does not reveal any sensitive capability or system information, and does not affect any subsequent investigations into unidentified air phenomena in military airspace,” it said. Furthermore, it sounds that the phenomena observed in the videos remain under the heading of ‘unidentified’.
Speculations
The fact that the Pentagon is now releasing the videos itself contributes to the legitimization of the images. Undoubtedly, it will only fuel speculation that humans may have come into contact with aliens.
The Pentagon previously studied recordings of aerial encounters with unknown objects as part of a classified program set up in 2007 on behalf of then–US Democratic Senate faction leader Harry Reid. But the secret program – the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program – ended in 2012 because it was judged that other priorities needed budgets.
“Finally”
The former head of the program, Luis Elizondo, stated to CNN in 2017 that he believes there is “compelling evidence that we may not be alone”. “These planes – let’s call them planes – have features that are unknown,” he said of the objects he had studied.
Ex-Senator Reid tweeted on Monday that he is “happy” that the Pentagon has “finally” released the videos of the unidentified flying objects, but that it is just the tip of the iceberg of research and available material.
