After breaking the record of the top scorer in the history of the league, the Portuguese international player, Cristiano Ronaldo has just broken a new record.
The Portuguese striker is now the first player to have scored 100 goals in the league champions with the same club. Author of a double against Paris SG (3-1), in the first knockout round of the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo won his duel against the Brazilian Neymar.
While criticism followed each other in recent months, Cristiano Ronaldo (33) brought the best of the answers, on the field against Paris Saint Germain.
The Portuguese set the record straight by scoring two goals: the first on penalty, and the second with the knee.
Asked after the match, Cristiano Ronaldo said “Mark before the break was perfect. PSG is a very dangerous team, especially with the front three. We pressed them in the first period. We dropped our foot a bit in the second half, but we played better. We created opportunities and transformed them. When you score and the team wins, it’s very special.”
Despite the victory, the Portuguese knows that nothing is yet done for the qualification in the quarterfinals. “We have a big advantage, but we still have to be wary. (…) But nothing is decided yet. It will mark there,” he said.
According to Marca, Ronaldo is the first player in history to achieve such a performance, Lionel Messi being at 97 with his old club, FC Barcelona.
