Senegal: Husband beats wife with an electric wire
A 16-year-old girl, married for four months, was severely molested by her husband with an electric wire.
In a video, she shows her wounds, her bloody, lacerated body and swollen face.
Abdoulaye Babou, lawyer of the young woman, promises that the family will go to the end for justice to be done in this affair which took place in Touba.
Babou argues that it all started when at 2 o’clock in the morning, the husband put a mosquito net and the girl who does not support this confinement asked him to lift a little bit the corner of the veil.
“The husband refused, he used electric wires, I saw his body lacerated on the back, front and face, the medical certificate is there, that’s something unacceptable.”
“Given the seriousness of the facts,” he says, “some have tried to deal amicably but there is a part of the family who opposed it,” said the lawyer.
According to Future Media Radio, the woman’s husband and executioner fled to The Gambia to avoid prosecution.
On social networks, condemnations and denunciations of violence against women are increasing.
