Sudanese MPs backed an initiative to amend the constitution to allow President Omar El-Bashir to run for a third term in the 2020 elections.
If the Constitution is not changed, Mr. Bashir, who came to power in a coup in 1989. Will not be able to run again, since a two-term limit was introduced in 2005.
