It is time for us Christians to understand the world in which we live. Many of us assume that it’s finished after we devote our lives to Jesus; we now live in a world of “care bears” where everything is rosy. No, wake up! You are not yet in paradise, and this world is under the power of Satan (1 John 5:19). To continue to exist there and realize the ideas of the Eternal there, we will have to bring out the iron hands under the velvet gloves.
The spiritual realm exists, and a constant and perpetual fight occurs there. What you experience in the physical world, good or unpleasant, is merely the result. So either you are spiritual to cope or carnal to get burned.
What is it to be carnal?
Carnal refers to flesh. It is consequently carnal, anything that pertains to the flesh. It is claimed of someone that he is carnal when he lives according to the cravings that his flesh stimulates in him.
What are the works of the flesh?
Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the deeds of the flesh are manifest, they are fornication, impurity, lasciviousness, idolatry, magic, enmities, contentions, jealousies, animosities, disputes, divides, factions, envy, drunkenness, gluttony, and the like…”
And similar things… Despite this, we frequently have the false sense that we have a complete list since it is so abundantly offered. In general, when we consider the concept of a carnal Christian, the following things come to mind most of the time in our thoughts. It is not a lie; rather, the issue at hand concerns the deeds of the flesh, as is abundantly evident; yet, I would want to spend some time today discussing a few related issues, which are not any less manifestations of the body.
Similar things are all the times you let your flesh dictate your behavior. I really don’t have the desire to go to church today, so I’ll just stay here at home. After all, it’s not that big of a deal, and I’ll go on the following Sunday. Since I do not feel like praying since I am too exhausted and would rather go to sleep, we will postpone the prayer until later. As a direct result of the challenging circumstances I am currently going through, I find that I have significantly less drive to serve in the church. I do not wish to forgive my brother; I am not prepared to do so at this time, and I fear that we have at least a few more months of bitterness ahead of us. I have no desire to assist my sister because all she needs to do is look for work; all of a sudden, we engage in miserliness, etc. The number of “similiar items” is much, much higher than the number of examples that have been given. The one thing that unites us all, the flesh, which, when allowed to shine, reveals all of its glory.
You act carnally every time you permit yourself to go to such guilty extremes, whether due to the difficulties you are experiencing or the spiritual drowsiness you are experiencing.
What are the potential risks?
It is impossible to have a physical body and a spiritual nature at the same time. Whoever has given in to their flesh has left the spiritual realm, where the battle is being fought, and the outcomes will be decided. As a result, he has already been vanquished. It really is that straightforward!
On the cross, Christ won the victory that serves as our stronghold in the spiritual battles we are engaged in. Therefore, the crucifixion is an actuality that could not possibly be any more spiritual. What exactly does this point to? We will only be victorious over Satan if we can manifest the victory that Christ has already won for us in the spirit. Satan, knowing that he cannot have the upper hand over you in this spiritual war because he knows better than you that you are fighting not for victory but in victory, will do everything in his power to get you out of the spiritual dimension, where you are invincible, and into the carnal dimension so that he can win the battle against you there. You suffer defeat in war, and some of the losses are permanent.
This is exactly the approach that an eagle would use. He is so terrifying in battle because he does not engage his victim in combat on the ground, where he would be at a severe disadvantage. Its domain is the air, where it enjoys great autonomy and freedom of movement. Therefore, it regularly visits the ground to catch its prey and then transports it to the air, where it is defenseless. It won’t take long for him to end her when he bashes her head against a rock.
Everyone in the conflict has their own particular area of influence and strategic zone to work inside. If you give Satan permission to turn you into a carnal Christian by compelling you to continue living in the baseness described above, you will fail because there is nothing you can do to combat him while you are still in your flesh.
How to become spiritual
Becoming spiritual is the first obstacle that must be overcome by any Christian who desires to have an advantage over their enemy. It’s not just about giving up being physical; it’s also about transforming into a spiritual being; the two are not always synonymous. Stopping the practice of the works of the flesh is a positive step in the right direction, but you also need to start exhibiting the fruit of the spirit to make true progress.
Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and temperance.
To become spiritual means to become aware of the spiritual reality in which we live, to become aware of the spiritual fight that rages in the spirit around us, and to arm ourselves accordingly. To become spiritual also means to become aware of the spiritual reality in which we live.
Ephesians 6:12, “For we fight not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, and evil spirits in high places.”
In the time of our ancestors, as recounted in the Old Testament, the nation of Israel was under attack from neighboring countries and required protection. Even while each conflict that was fought and each people faced was tied to a certain spiritual truth that they were unaware of at the time, the struggle felt a little bit more genuine because of this. Today, we are tasked with engaging in solely spiritual battles, which call for a specific suit of armor.
Ephesians Chapters 6:14–17 “Therefore, stand, having your loins girded about with truth; put on the breastplate of righteousness; put on your shoes the zeal which the Gospel of peace gives; take the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one; also take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God;” “Take also the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the fiery darts
As a result of our adornment, we are immune to strikes from the adversary. However, we only tap into this shield’s potential when we pray.
Ephesians 6:18 “Pray always in the Spirit, with every type of prayer and petition you can think of,” the Bible instructs. Maintain a steadfast vigil over this, and pray for the salvation of all the righteous.
