In Norway, a new pedestrian bridge has just opened, and we think it is one of the most beautiful in the world. The Twist is a twisted bridge that connects two parts of a sculpture park.
The architects conceived the construction at BIG as a beam that rotates 90 degrees in the center to create a sculptural form as it spans the Randselva river. It is so high that there is also enough space for an exhibition space.
For the construction, wide aluminum panels were used that are arranged like a stack of books in a fan shape. The inside looks almost identical, making it seem to visitors that they are walking through the veil of an old camera.
