The relationship between the United States and Iran would have deteriorated.
In a publication on his Twitter account, Donald Trump violently responded to warnings from Iranian President Hassan Rohani.
The latter was asking his American counterpart to stop his hostile policy against Tehran.
“Americans must understand that a war with Iran will be the mother of all wars, and peace with Iran will be the mother of all peace,” Hassan Rohani wrote on Twitter.
He had also called on Donald Trump not to “play with the lion’s tail.”
Donald Trump’s reaction to this tweet was swift:
To Iranian President Rouhani: “NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER TO COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS”

A senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards officer, General Commander Gholam Hossein Gheibparvar, described Trump’s statements as “psychological warfare,” the ISNA news agency reported on Monday.
Before the tweet of Trump, the US administration had already multiplied the speeches against Tehran.
In a speech Sunday night, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, compared the Iranian regime to the mafia, accusing the clerics who ruled the country to enrich themselves and finance terrorism at the expense of the Iranian people.
“For the regime, the prosperity, security and freedom of the Iranian people can be sacrificed in the march to accomplish the revolution,” said Pompeo in a speech at the Ronald Reagan National Library in Simi Valley, California.
“The level of corruption and wealth among the regime’s leaders shows that Iran is ruled by something more like the mafia than a government.”
Among the most alarming allegations of Pompeo was the fact that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has a personal hedge fund worth $95 billion.
