An American journalist who tweeted a photo of politicians at the G7 summit in France was ridiculed online for noting in her post that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa was an “unidentified leader.”
This angered some South Africans who pointed out that the journalist had no problem accurately identifying the other three men in the picture including Frenchman Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Justin Trudeau and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In the reactions, a person invited the Associated Press journalist to go to South Africa.
Others commented: “Are you a comedian or a journalist?” and “Poor Cyril”. Five African countries participated as a guest at the G7 summit that opened this Saturday in Biarritz, France.
The heads of state of Senegal, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, South Africa and Egypt were invited by French President Emmanuel Macron around the table of discussion of the seven most considerable world economic powers.
