Why Rihanna forbade photographers and mobile phones at her latest fashion show
Popstar Rihanna (31) presented the new collection of her lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty at New York Fashion Week on Tuesday. We don’t know (yet) if a highly pregnant model was shown during the fashion show, because the guests had to leave their phones behind and photographers were forbidden.
When Rihanna showed her first lingerie collection on models in all different shapes, sizes and backgrounds during the last New York fashion week, she was overloaded with praise messages. The fact that she also made the bras available in no less than 36 sizes and also in seven skin tones made it a commercial success. In the end, this even resulted in her own fashion house under the wings of LVMH, the largest luxury house in the world and owned by Bernard Arnault.
She was eagerly awaiting her second show, but those present were confronted with a surprise on Tuesday. The photographers were only allowed to take pictures on the red carpet (see below), and the others had to put their smartphone in locked boxes.
With good reason: her show will be broadcasted exclusively on September 20th in 200 countries on the Amazon Prime streaming service. She announced that she is planning the most “sexy, eccentric and energetic experience” you can imagine.
Whether that was the case, we have to wait and see. We do know that Rihanna herself opened the show with a dance performance and there is the talk of performances by artists like Halsey, Migos, Big Sean and DJ Khaled.
