Woman sets fire on virgin Mary’s statue in a church
Last Sunday morning, a woman created a surprising scene by burning a statue of the Virgin Mary in the Saint-Jacques d’Orba parish located in Enugu state of Nigeria.
It was found that the woman had waited for the end of the Mass, before committing the act. The suspect was immediately arrested and interrogated to determine the reason for her action.
The statue of the Virgin Mary is sacred to Catholics. In the Catholic Church, the veneration of Mary, the mother of Jesus, encompasses various Marian devotions such as prayer, pious acts, visual arts, poetry and music dedicated to her.
