Egyptian coach Hector Cuper said Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has recovered from his shoulder injury and will play his opening match against Uruguay on Friday.
Salah’s return is a huge boost for Egypt and for the tournament in Russia, as it means that one of the most prominent players on the planet will be in action.
“Mohamed Salah is doing very well, he does three workouts a day to complete his recovery and maintain his fitness. The results are in! Unless something dramatic happens, I’m almost 100% sure he can play against Uruguay.”
“His recovery has been incredible, he can dream of doing a great competition,” said Hector Cuper in a press conference on Thursday.
The Liverpool player was injured in the Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 26 in Kiev.
Mohamed Salah, one of the best players in the world this season, helped his club qualify for the Champions League final.
The Egyptian will not have the right to the error because the hope of a whole nation rests on him.
