Zimbabwe: Mugabe summoned by parliament for the disappearance of diamonds

The former Zimbabwean head of state Robert Mugabe called to appear before Parliament on Friday, May 9, to explain the “disappearance of diamonds worth fifteen billion dollars,” said a parliamentarian, reports by VOA Africa.

“We have set May 9 as the date when he (Robert Mugabe) is due to testify,” said Temba Mliswa, the chairman of the parliamentary committee in charge of mining and energy, quoted by the state newspaper Herald.

He continued… “The committee met today (Thursday) and decided to invite former President Mugabe to our committee to explain the disappearance of diamonds worth $15 billion,” he said.
