A Zimbabwean woman married a few days after a crocodile snatched her arm.
Zanele Ndlovu, a Zimbabwean woman, married in the hospital chapel where she was being treated for a few days after a crocodile tore off her arm.
A friend of the family said that Zanele Ndlovu was canoeing on the Zambezi River with her fiancé Jamie Fox when the crocodile struck.
“They were in an inflatable canoe, and the crocodile attacked their boat and deflated it before attacking Zanele,” said the family friend.
Ms. Ndlovu’s Facebook profile picture shows her rafting.
“During the attack, the crocodile grabbed her and tore her arm while her partner was making efforts to save her,” says the family friend.
He adds that Mr. Fox made a makeshift tourniquet before taking him to the hospital where he was finally amputated.
The Sun newspaper (UK) reports that they planned to get married on Saturday at Victoria Falls.
Due to the state of health of the bride, they were instead allowed to use the chapel of Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo (Zimbabwe’s second largest city) to celebrate their union on Sunday.
