Cameroonian singer Wes has died at the age of 57. His manager has informed various media.
Wes Madiko, as the singer’s full name, is, scored a worldwide hit with the song ‘Alane’ in 1997. About ten million copies of the song were sold.
The singer died of an infection he contracted in hospital. He had been in a coma for several days before that.
Wes also became widely known among the younger generation when he gave the song a new look together with DJ Robin Schulz. The remix was released in 2020.
