‘Aquaman’ becomes the most successful DC-print since ‘The Dark Knight’

‘Aquaman’, by director James Wan, has exceeded the billion limits. This is the first DC movie since the Batman production ‘The Dark Knight’ from 2012 that brings so much money.

Yesterday it became official: ‘Aquaman’ belongs to the so-called ‘billion dollar club’ of the worldwide box office. It is a significant victory for Warner Bros., given that their DC Entertainment films had a hard time competing with superhero giant Marvel.

‘Aquaman’ is also only the third DC print that once yielded a billion. Until recently, only Batman films ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ from the trilogy by Christopher Nolan.

“I would like to express my love and thanks to all fans and viewers all over the world,” said James Wan in a statement about the milestone. “I am eternally grateful to Jason Mamoa to make Aquaman one of the coolest superheroes ever.”

Jason Mamoa plays the role of Aquaman, and Amber Heard and Nicole Kidman also play important roles.
