In Argentina, the home where Diego Maradona spent his childhood has been designated as a national monument. The Argentine government has formally backed the decision.
The small home is in the Villa Fiorito area of Buenos Aires’ south side. The house’s front is now adorned with a mural by ‘Pluisje’.
On October 30, 1960, Maradona was born. He awarded his nation the world championship in Mexico in 1986. Maradona died on November 25, 2020, from heart failure.
He had had brain surgery two weeks before. The circumstances surrounding his death were thereafter the subject of a thorough inquiry.
Maradona never shied away from his lowly beginnings. He still visited Villa Fiorito on a regular basis, where he made his first steps on a football field.
